As a small but growing business, we recognise the importance of developing practices to reflect the needs of the community in which we are based.

At Roast we work closely with The Prince's Trust, bringing in children from deprived local areas to the restaurant. At these regular events, they have breakfast with the Founder and learn about the restaurant business. They are then given a tour of the market and get to meet producers who teach them the importance of good food in leading a healthy life. Then they are given tasks in the restaurant to learn the opportunities of work.

We further support The Prince's Trust by donating all profits generated by a particular table in the restaurant. If you would like to book that table, please click here.

Our company has a Skills Pledge to provide training to all our staff and we have received an Investor in People award.

We have signed up to a Local Employment Partnership with Job Centre Plus to help find work for the long term unemployed. We have also begun offering apprenticeship schemes for local people.

We are also working with the London Development Agency's Diversity Works for London programme to attain a Gold Standard for our recruitment and management policies and practices.

We are striving to do more to protect the environment. Our menus are now printed on recycled paper and in our lavatories we have replaced paper towels with Dyson hand dryers.
